Unemployment Trends
The National Administrative Department of Statistics (DANE) revealed that the unemployment rate in January 2015 was 10.8 percent, the lowest in the last 15 years for that month. And if the data is compared with that recorded in December of 2014, an increase is compared to 8.7 percent the previous month, but that is the result of the normal behavior of the employment generated always only cover Christmas time.
According to the deputy director of Dane, Diego Silva Ardila, 2015 began with a similar trend that has been observed in recent periods."The unemployment data is accompanied by an occupancy rate of 56.9 percent, which is also the highest for this period," Silva said while adding that 431,000 people were employed in January this year compared with the same month of 2014 ".
These figures disclose the progress that Colombia has had in employment, this means that Government can offer different strategies to increase work in the country.
